I just installed a new head on my car. Should I retorque the head after about 500 miles? Someone told me to do so since I'm all aluminum. Not quite sure. But I did blow my first head gasket about 500 after I first did a valve job. Just wondering if that is what blew it.

shouldn't need to do that. That's why torque to yeild bolts are used.LSJ powered 1998 Chevy S-10 turbo

Slap the jek face that told you that.
The only time you retorque head bolts is if the intructions with the head gasket tell you too. That will be mainly for copper gaskets.-6S Resident Mechanical Forensics member #001.
