so i want to know the gm part number, acd number and the number on the sensor itself (if you know what it is).

i bought a brass tipped one for what i thought was for my car. obviously its either defective or not the right one. its the same pretty much all around, but when i started my car the temp read 1/2 and the fan never kicked off. the good thing about it was, it never ran rich under full throttle around here and felt very good . but anyways i swapped back in the old sensor that i bought a over a year ago, plastic one, and its running fine.

Thefan should not come on at the half mark. Usually it turns on just before the red or right at the red. (around 220-224)

yeah i know. thats why im trying to figure out if i got the right one and was defective or if i got the entirely wrong one. i installed it back when i did the trans pull, and as soon as i started it, temp was at 1/2 mark and fan was running, then ses light came on (didnt need a scanner to tell me why!)

i knew the problem, so i swapped the new sensor out for the "new" old one. its been running like normal ever since. i just wanted to find out what the ac delco part numer is for this thing. the one i got has to be it, so my guess is defective.

i work at saturn for a lil over a year in the part department before i left in june. as far as i knew the have experienced the fan cuts on at 3/4 not at the red. i have seen this during the summer when me and my friend where doing a auto cross on a hot day and was surpirsed at how fast the fan cools once you hit the 3/4 mark. how long was the car previously ran and what tmeputer marker was it at when u turnwed it off to do the swap. if it was already running the fan it might have stop when u removed the sensor and then restarted once the ac delco one was installed.

ok no one take offense to this but, I KNOW WHERE ITS SUPPOSE TO RUN, WHERE THE FAN KICKS IN, AND EVERYTHING!

ok so now i got that past, i know it suppose to run between 1/4-1/2 and near the 3/4 mark which is like 220 degrees, the fan kicks in. yes the temperature drops quick because the fans are pretty good, and the engine is all aluminum.

NOW, what i want to know............. the part number for a brass coolant sensor for the s-series. the reason the car acted the way it did was because the sensor i had, i knew the problem and swapped them so it runs like normal.

here is the part number of the sensor i got...........
ACD# 213-1138
GM# 88924806
#on sensor- S227 3162

i want to know if thats the correct part number, if so i got a defective on then.
