    99 sl2 bad vin 7 mota & auto
    00 rear ended
    what s the prob
    the guy that bringing the work was told it wont work
    someone tell me hes wrong

        are you asking the pull the engine and trans from the 00 and put it in the 99? and the person bringing the cars said it wouldnt work or someone told him?

        i think i just got myself confused.

          terribly sorry
          i had a computer crash and my brain followed
          ive got a 99 w/ bad vin 7 engine & bad auto
          rearended 00 vin 7 good w/ good trans auto
          guy thats bringin the job was told swappin a 00 into a 99 dont work
          i dont see why
          i wanted the monstah and everyone else to confirm my theory that the other guy didnt know what he was saying
          00 to 99 ? swap

            should work. a friend of mine had a 99sc, and i couldn't ever find much difference between his car and my 00sl2

                isn't 2000 the year they changed the intake manifold to the skyward facing TB?

                  that was my only thought. but i thought 99s were too? i cant remember. but i also thought it still would work just swap the intakes.

                      i am going to go with yes you can swap out the engine and trannies. however you probablly will have to use everything from the 00 car and even swap the ecu .

                        So swaping the ecu. Just ake sure you use the exhuast manifold for the right year car. If you are putting the 00 into the 99, then use the 99 exhuast manifold.

                        You might have to splice the injector harness clips onto the harness to fit the 00...unless you have the later 99 with the plastic intake manny.

                            i have a late 99 sl2 and it has the same manifold as the previous years. i even have the nifty air injection thingy
