Hey, I'm gonna go check out a 93 SC2 this Saturday
check for leaksing of oil, SES light, and header cracks... see if it smokes, how many miles, and also, if it sounds right, and no nocks or tickings.... if its 5 speed take it for a test drive...
and rust for one thing. try compression testing too. Since its a saturn, you cant do the magnet test. Listen for ticking, UNUSUAL rattling (remember saturns interior panels rattle a little). Light damage, check blinkers, horn, gas, brake, brake pressure, oil, transmission fluid, clutch, how the clutch grabs, CV axles, brake discs, windows for cracks, possible leaks, interior scent (if it smells like rat poop, chances are, its rat poop)....probably more things I cant think of.
Well, a cracked windshield is expensive for our cars. They range from 300 on up. If you are feeling bad vibrations, it could be the engine mounts wich are easy and cheap to replace (especially the Torque Axis Mount located to the left of the valve cover, if you can fit your fingers between the rubber and the metal, it's history).
The Odometer. Regardless of what the miles read, if the trip odomoter reads 0, than it's probably TMU (total miles unknown) and not working. If you drive the car watch and make sure the numbers are turning.
Honestly, if you are a do it yourself person, there is not much that is out of sight unless it's major damage. But we are all different.
cracked windshield no problem.... insurance must pay for it... Florida law
where are you located in miami...

<br />Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drink I feel ashamed. Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn't drink this beer, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself, "It is better that I drink this beer and let their dreams come true than be selfish and worry about my liver."

Awesome. I got for 700 bucks. My mechanic tells me that I need to repair the CV Joints and the exhaust, followed by the AC. How much can I expect that to run me?

Actually it's a must if you, the consumer, have full coverage on your vehicle. If you do NOT have full coverage, than they will not replace it for free. Believe me, I know.
woot another south florida person... WOOOT... NOT ALONE ANYMORE.... YAY

if the exhaust needs repair, just go ahead and swap it out for a new exhaust system.

Consider this: 800 hp is a lot on a 2.0L motor. With 750hp, three-quarters of a thousand you're basically dealing with 6.14 hp per cubic inch. Pressures and stresses of all kinds thermal and mechanical loading across the board escalate to extreme levels. A Chevrolet 5.7-liter LS1 V8 with this much specific power (horsepower per cubic inch) would be making 2,137 hp

same here. i cant drive autos without messing up. whatever you do dont think about shifting. just sit in the car and go through the gears so you know how it feels. never push into 3rd gear, it will pull itself into the area. when you actually go to drive it. sit on a level surface first, and get start to release the clutch slowly and see where it seems that the engine starts to die. now feel how stiff the gas pedal is. rev to like 1500 rpms and ease out clutch. once you learn to get it rolling its cake from there. but over time you will learn how to release the clutch better then i described. but what out for hills. you either have to learn clutch hold (where you hold the car steady with part throttle and part gas) or have quick feet. i dont like the clutch hold. but anyways, its an easy task, the hardest part is getting it rolling, from there its nothing.
