  • ADVICE..on how to prime the motor..

got the whole motor put back together with the help of MY DAD, CHARLIE, AND MY BROTHER. and now i need to prime it before i start it obviously. the spark plugs arent in right now/ coils not hooked up.. so i need some tips on how everyone has primed their motors before. i've been told to unscrew the oil pressure sending unit. leave the spark plugs out but connect the battery and turn the motor until oil comes out of the hold for the pressure sending unit. then i'm good. any other tips??

I like how they are caps'd. Keep the plugs out, disconnect the fuse for the fp relay and begin to turn it over (this assuming all of the fluids are in)

DOn't unscrew the sending unit unless you want a big oilly mess that accoplishes nothing.

Pull the spark plugs, leave the Harness form the Ignition module (the thing under the coils) unpluged, and crank the engine over with you footto the floor (over 80% throttle while cranking = flood clear mode, no fuel).

i've heard squirtin a little oil in each cylinder also helps before initial start.

keep the coil packs unplugged, and crank here over a few times with your foot to the floor. Then, plug in the coil packs and fire it up. let it idle a little bit, and go seat those rings (after engine is to temp)

shouldnt you also pull the fuse for the injectors, or all the connectors so it wont be flooded when you go to start.

If you mash the gas like sam said the car automatically in the pcm disengages the injectors. Really cool is what I thought when I first read that. No fuel and no spark='s less worry about problems. But yeah like jay said seat them bitches right.
