• PCM hacking?

Saw a hacked PCM for sale, tho I didn't plan to get it. Just curious how this is accomplished (the hacking, not the selling). Cany anyone do a how-to? Also, what are the changes that can be made?
    Just curious

if anyone here knows of the person that can do them, im willing to pay any reasonable amount for one.

but cant you just run a switch to the power wire for the dash so you can flip it before you hit the govonor?

what does the govonor read from? the dash or what?

my guess would be the speed sensor on the tranny...

here's a thought on this I keep bouncing around in my tiny brain... since the sensors are based on voltage (usually 0-5V) what if you were able to install a switch of some kind that would supply a steady 3V of power to the speed sensor wire going to the PCM (and not the actual voltage coming from the sensor itself), the car might think it's only going like... 60MPH and wouldn't hit it's speed governor?!?

        make sense?

i would have to say so from what your saying, but that would still be way over my head... has anyone tried or know of any proven methods for this?

thats one thing i hate about my ion, i could drop 10 grand into the engine and yet, its still not gonna go fast, lol.

hey proj, could you give that a shot? see if it works?

Spanky you could easily work around that with a full stand alone engine management setup, which you would need anyway when you get to radical mods in order for the car to run properly.

Ion 1 and 2 are limited to 108, and the 3 is at 120+. However, it has been noted that the 2's that are sold with the suspension and wheel package are higher up with the 3's, if limited at all.

I'm looking for a way to bump mine now for track use for obvious reasons. Just haven't had the time to do it yet.

Check the wiring diagrams in the Tech Files section cuz I'm not 100% sure
