• Leaky sunroof

I'm going today to look at my parents 97 SC2. Where do the drain lines come out at? Figured they shouldn't be too hard to find but just want to make sure I cover all the bases before I go. Hope to get this fixed in one shot. Would have been nice if they had left the drain holes set up like the first gens. Maybe we could put some pics in the Tech section.

the ones that are causing it not to drain are going to be behind both driver and passenger kick panels. you will need to cut the end off to remove that plug like gimmick. this will cure your problem. dirt likes to get clogged in there.

When i worked for saturn they had a problem with the drain lines falling off the sunroof, you have to pull the headliner down and zip tie them back on.

The rear drains are in the trunk. Pull the carpeting down adn back from the sides of the trunk..like if you had to access the back of a tail lamp (even though the Series can be access like that, still pretend you aredoing that).. Pull it back but keep pulling until you are back by the tire well. You will see a black hose moled into a 90 and a hard plastic line going into the rubber 90. Pull the rubber peice off theline and take it outta the fender. Snip the tips and blow the crud out like sl2Racer said and you should be staight.

After you are done, have one of you parent run the hose over the sunroof. If it still leaks, fix the top of the drain like the person a post or 2 up mentioned.

There are 4 drians total. 2 front 2 rear.

which ones can't you find. it is usually the front ones that get clogged anyways. they are behind the kick panels. dig around in there and you will find the rubber tubes.

Yeah, I got those a year ago. But I can not find the ones in the trunk, and I had some water in the trunk, as well as a little on the inner liner of the roof. So I figured the rear ones were backing up as well.

ok i'm having the same prob...last nite it rained real bad and this morning the satty is flooded, front driver floor, rear driver floor, headliner at driver, driver visor, driver seat, running down the inside of the windshield, man what a phucking mess, pulled the carpet back and about a 1/4 in water in rear floor....took the headliner down, and dried the roof off, all the lines are still hooked up, so i think it's the driverside front....if i cut that off where will it drain....is my question(?)

don't go cutting stuff. Pull the plastic trim off down by the passenger's right foot (also runs along under the pass door). Then pull the rubber piece behind that out. Look for the end of the drain hose. From what I understand, it will have a screen or something on the end. Pull that off, and clean the crap out. It may all drain out when you do this. If not, use some compressed air to blow the hose out from the top.

                        Re: Leaky sunroof

Had the floor flood in my 2001 sc2. "ArrghIGiveUp" gave me directions as to what to do. Had to got to the bottom edge of the firewall in the engine compartment where there is a drain. Poked some stuff out that was clogging the drain tube and it has never flooded again. Don't know if it is different on the first and second gens.

In some cases you may find that the sunroof frame could also be cracked. I've had plenty of those, they are made of plastic
