  • Best tires on a S series for crappy weather....

Currently going to replace my rubber on the car before the first snow, anyone have some good suggestions?

    So far I'm looking at:

    Michelin Hydroedges P205 60r15s

    and

Goodyear Assurance triple treads, same size.

Anyone ever run any of these??

I hope you can easily get it in and out of 4wd and you've got a TON of weight in the back. My pop's 2wd ranger is the worst thing I've ever driven in snow.

          Oh yeah, Blizzaks FTW

Any snow tire is going to own an all-season in the snow. If you need an all season... the ziex 512s are not bad, and the Firestone Indy 500s are decent (13/32 tread depth!).

Dont but a 205/60. If you want wet weather traction, a 195 60 is fine. 205 will just increase the likelyhood of you hydroplaning.

Those are both awsome tires. have never heard any complaints on the hydroedges and the only complaint i have heard about the triple treads is they are loud as hell as far as road noise goes. Also is stick with a 195/60 instead of the 205.

i am currently running the triple tread and i love them no snow experience yet but they sure carve through water. and grip nice to. i wouldn't recommend them for a performance tire but they were sure as hell an upgrade from my old firehawks

road noise is not noticeable at all or maybe i got used to it

Think I'm going with the Michelin Hydroedges, they have the $50 rebate where the triple treads don't. It's going to end up costing me about $480 for the 4 of them. Whereas the triple were about $536.00. Thanks for the input guys. We got snow coming on Friday here, and my old Aquatreads are Aquaslicks right now, slicks and a SC2 in the winter SUCK.... Weeeeeeeeee.
I'll let you know how they turn out.

Jesus. I can't imagine putting a $500 set of tires on a Saturn unless they started with V7xx or AS3xx.

I hope you checked around a couple different places.

No i dont have that attitude, i know that you can get going good in the shit with 4wd, but stopping is a different story, ive been driving FWD since 16 and laughed at all the suv's and trucks in the ditch. Im just saying this will go through way more than my old DD 94 sl1 with blizaks witch rocked
