    Springs are here!!

    WOOT!!! My B&G Springs finally arrived! Time to lower this bad boy!

    Unfortunately, my weekend is totally packed, so I probably won't get to it until next weekend. I wish Gravana had called to let me know they were coming, that way I could've cleared time to do them. Oh well, still happy they finally arrived!! I was beginning to wonder if they'd ever show!

    Ia was like "Hey, why is there a giant shoe box at our front door?" That's what the box looked like, lol!!

    Will post pics of before and after the 4x4 has disappeared!

      OK, tentative plan is start working on it on Friday (the 28th). I'm gonna either get off work early, or take a half day off so I can run around and get whatever we'll need (tools, etc.). Hopefully, work on it Friday night, and then more on Saturday if necessary. Anybody who's around is welcome to come help with it.

          Sweetness! Somebody on the RL forums said it only took them about 3 hours to do all the work. So....new springs ready for some cruisin on Friday night? [img]{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_twisted.gif[/img]

          I'll make a couple stops in AutoZone this week to pick up other tools and ask about the rental thing. Need to buy jackstands and a star socket set (stupid front struts have some kind of E-8 bolt head or something).

            rent some spring compressors.

            if you have an impact wrench, air or electric, it will be very handy during this

            you'll need I want to say a 10mm, 18mm, 21mm. maybe 13mm, 15mm, and 19mm. not positive.

            if you need the torque specs let me know I have them.

            remember, mark where the cap and strut mount line up, will be worlds easier that way.

            I just swapped a set of B+G's on to Ahriman's yesterday in about 2 1/2 hours if that, just had to stop at the last corner because of rain.

              Awesome. Thanks Vinny. Yep, I'm planning to try and rent both an impact wrench and some spring compressors. Been told that I can rent both from Autozone, so, I'm gonna find out.

              There's actually a really good write-up on the whole job on the RL forums, so I'll probably go by that. You gonna be around Friday night if we need some emergency advice? [img]{SMILIES_PATH}/lol.gif[/img]

                  Hey Anthony, planning to start working on these around 6 or 7 tonight. Gotta pick Ia up from work around 5 then I'll be coming home to start. I'm taking this afternoon off from work so I can run around town and get the tools we'll need. If you're free this afternoon and want to come, just give me a call.

                        yeah, well, I hope we can still pull this off. I've yet to be able to find an electric impact wrench. And I don't have the funds to buy an air compressor and an air powered wrench. Got a couple more places to check still this afternoon. Otherwise, we'll just have to do it the good old fashioned way.
