Anyone have recommendations for the best suspension setup on a redline? I've got a set of Progress competition springs, but they're not installed yet. What about struts and, sway bars, etc?

Keep up with things over at redlineforums.com. That's going to be your best source for info on parts like that. So far, I don't think there are any struts in production yet, but I heard some news a month or so ago that someone was developing some fully-adjustable coilovers. There's a couple supporting vendors on the RL forums that sell strut bars (i think rear sway bars too. Torque Forward has some good experience with the group. I'm gonna get one of their front tower strut bars after I get my springs installed.

sure isn't, I have one from Torque Forward installed on my Redline rear end.

          OK....couldn't remember.

Wait...is the rear sway the part that goes under the car between the rear wheels, or is it the one that attaches inside the car under the back window?

I know somebody makes the one that goes under the car between the rear wheels for the regular ION, so wouldn't that work on the RL too?

strut bar works on base Ions as well, pretty simple yet stout design.

there is no part for Ions that goes in the back window, that's for the rear struts on an s-series is what you're thinking of.

Progress makes a unit for the 03-04 base Ions that bolts on the rear beam and increases stifness quite a bit. for 04-06 Redline Ions, Torque Forward makes a bar that ties in the two spring seats on the rear beam, increasing stiffness probably more than the Progress one. ride quality does get rough, but it helps the rear end plant big time.

                OK cool thought so.

I know when we put the front tower strut bar and rear sway bar on blueiondubv's ION it made a HUGE difference.

i take it this wont fit base ions unless you have a redline rear end right?

supposedly no, not without drilling a hole in teh spring perch support structure underneath, but I have yet to get under an 03-04 and check it out and take measurements. I have a creeping feeling the 05-06 rear end will work though.

Andy, check with Blueiondubv, he's got a rear sway on his that was easy to do.

                              yeah

in all honesty I think I liked the Progress unit more for a few reasons. if they ever release one for the Redline rear end, I'll most likely pick that one up.
