well most ppl on here will sacrifice comfort for performance. what level ion do you have? if its a level 3 you might have the FE2 sports tuned suspension. to check pop trunk. lift carpet and look in bottom left corner for sticker. search for FE2. it has stiffer springs and or shocks on it.

A Chevrolet 5.7-liter LS1 V8 with this much specific power (horsepower per cubic inch) would be making 2,137 hp

they dont makea full race coilover set up for that like they would for other cars. I wish Tein would make kits for out cars. I would love to get my hands on the Driving Master suspension...

But enough wishful thinking, Lower spring will make the car sit lower, and I guess all in all, the car will be stiffer, but might seem more stable going straight. A Front Strut Bar might help keep te chassis stiffer, and help the rough ride. Could just be tires or something though.

Going with the typical "cheap style" coil-overs will be probably one of the harshest rides you can get. I'd advise very much against that.

There are a handful of spring options for the Ions. I'm running the Eibach Pro Kit and love it. Progress, Sprint (a.k.a. Spring Tech), B+G, Intrax, and Skunk2 also make springs.

I felt as if ride with the Eibachs was improved over stock, but that's just me. Handling is going to be worlds better.

Front strut tower will stiffen the front up, but won't effect ride quality. I'd also highly suggest the Progress 22mm rear sway bar to stiffen the rear up.

Keep in mind when going with larger wheels: the lower your sidewall ratio is, the more you'll feel the road from less volume of air in there to cushion it. You might want to stay in the 15-16 inch range.

I was fortunate enough to test several springs on the QC and the RL and form an opinion. The B+G springs offered the best combination of ride and performance on both cars. On the RL, the H&R was slightly more aggressive and provided a little more bite under hard cornering but sacrificed a little comfort during freeway driving. Eibach PK and Progress were also great options, following closely.

                I hope that helps.

I wasn't impressed with the B+G springs at all on either delta platform cars. the best 3 I've worked with have been Eibach, Sprint, and Progress in terms of quality, cost, performance, etc. I never got the chance to test the H&R's out, couldn't get a pair in hand, but they were fun in the s-series (although really really rough so I forsee them wearing out the OEM damping system quickly).
