  • Skunk2 Spring issue

i got a set of skunk2 springs for my ion2 sedan, its un believeable how nice of a ride it gave me and how well it handles!

only problem is when i looked under the car today, it looked like this... is it suppose to look this way?

my friend said that they are possibly upside down...

either that, or maybe you got front and back switched?

yeah they actually do look like they might be upside down

I don't think they're the fronts in the back though, it's obvious the difference in the two, and the paperwork should have shown which is which, I give Spanky a little more credit than that.

      try flipping them over

are they progressive rate? my eibach's sit similar to that because of the progressive spring rate.

        ~thx vinny,

but on the front, the name was upside down on the front springs, so i figured that the rear ones should be the same... and i honestly am not sure if they are progresssive rate or not, i got them off of ebay. and the only thing that came with the springs was the box they came in, a product catalog and a sticker...

          hmmmm

tell you what, let me take a look at mine if I can tonight, the car is still not towed yet, if mine look similar you're fine.

I do know that on my eibach's they looked to be about at that compression height in teh back.

maybe do a search on Redlineforums, I know someone there at least had them for a little while, he would know for sure.

if you can take a look for me, thatd be awesome.
i thought the suspension from the ions n the redlines were different on the rear...

I just looked at vins car, where yours ar bunched on the bottom, his are bunched on top. So my guess is that you got them upside down. Atleast the rear springs are easy.

Thanks Chris. There you have it Spanky.

While the rear shocks and welded in sway bar is thicker in diameter, the basic setup is the same.

Ahh, shit happens what you gonna do lol. A tech at my dealership lowered an Ion quad for the store. One day I was looking under it with a customer and noticed that the tech had installed the rear springs opposite if eachother, one was progressive at the top and the other at the bottom lol.

lol shit happens, but i just find it odd, for the text to be upside down in the front, but for the rear, it has to be normal...weird...

I agree with him. The only springs that I have seen bunched at the top are B&G springs for the ion.

Hey Schizzo what do you think about the progressive springs from sms. I have B&G's now and I want to go lower. I have 18's on my car and there is a wheel gap that I want to get rid of.
