  • New Shocks old Springs??

    I have a 93 Miata right,


    the shocks are gone, going through a bumpy road is like my car is being thrown down a cliff and it sounds like it's breaking


    so I saw some KYB GR-2's for a very reasonable price


    but I was wondering about the springs, I don't want to lower my car, miata's are low as it is, I was just wondering if it will be okay to set it up like that or am I going to blow my shocks cuz of the old springs (I have no IDEA how to see if they are still good)

    Just go with it and see what happens

      most people that are just replacing their struts keep the old springs. Unless they are cut/completely trashed you should be good..

          Go with some AGX adjustable shocks.
          07 Redline w/ stuff.<br /><br />89 Civic hatch w/o stuff.<br /><br />96 SL2 that dont need stuff.

            I SERIOUSLY thought about it really hard but I don't want to put that much money into it


            I'm just not going to use it, i'll be fine w/ the GR-2

                  honestly though...cutting your springs has to be the worst idea. my 94 SL2 rode like complete ass thanks to the kid who owned it before me. Sure it might look nice but in all honesty id rather ride on The worst ebay coilover before riding on cut springs ever again....let alone the fact they arent safe..i replaced wheel studs on my rear wheels...dropped the car..drove 12 miles and the spring popped out within 3 miles of my house...lets just say i didnt have a tire after that....then i changed the springs and left it stock.
