  • Tech2Win wisdom needed

    I'm hoping to find someone that can help me figure out the whole tech2win thing. I recently purchased a 2001 SC2 that came without RKE fobs. I've verified the original build had RKE and I purchased a couple fobs from Amazon, now I just need to get talking to my BCM. (the build sheet also said I have express-down windows, but, evidently the car is unaware of that fact).

    so anyone have success hacking into a gen3 ?

    I haven't worked on a 3rd gen but I do have a Tech2Win that I use for my 97. From what I've seen, You should be able to easily program key fobs.

    From the tech2 main screen select, Diagnostics -> 2001 -> Saturn -> Body -> Z -> Body Control Module -> Special Functions -> Add/Replace Key Fobs

    It will then guide you through programming a new fob.

          Late response, but you don't need a Tech 2 for fob programming on the third gens. You do need a higher end scan tool to accomplish it though, the paperclip method doesn't work like the second gens. I have an Autel DS808 and I've programmed fobs for my 01 SC2 without issue. If you know someone that has an Autel, Bosch, Snap-On, or any other higher end scan tool the capability to program fobs should be there.
