How to read compressor maps for beginners

For your calculations of engine efficiency, use this basic concept to get a decent idea of your engine VE;
Typical volumetric efficiency for a stock/street engine is 80-85%,
85-90% for mildly modded engine (like I/H/E) and 90-95% for a well built heavily modded engine (like cams, ported head - you get the idea, increases in airflow). This does not include race engines, which can achieve 100%+ (at certain rpm ranges)
Single cam 2 valve engines use the lower number, 4 valve dual cam engines use the higher number.LSJ powered 1998 Chevy S-10 turbo
