  • 3" downpipe?

ok so i am looking to run a 3" downpipe on my 94 sc2....it seems that fitment is going to be very tight between the block and the subframe...how hard is it to make this fit and for that matter not make it smack against the block or subframe....thanks
Go turbo or don't go at all!

I've heard 3" will have an issue fitting without removing the crossmember.

You can run without a front cross member for a while, just be sure to remedy the "lack of" situation should you choose to go ahead with the removal. Your only other option is to dent the fuck out of the cross member which is pretty much like removing it as far as support goes.

you can fit a 3" in there with just denting it in, or bending it a little. it's not too hard, but it depends on where your turbo is.

Dont the down pipes that come with the Alpha kits fit between there with no problem and are of the 3" variety? If anything just bend the cross bar enough to clear the downpipe. but make sure you bend it enough so when the engine moves around its still not going to slam into the cross member.

yeah they do. i've never had a problem running them. you might need to bend in the cross member a little bit, but you shouldn't have to dent the down pipe at all. most of the guys that i've sold them too said they slipped in with no bending or denting.

it also depends on whos making it. that has a lot to do with it. if your doing it yourself and you havn't done it before, just make sure to buy an extra 3" 180. don't be scared to trash some material in order to get a better fitting finished product.
