well I really do not know of aney thing

about the only thing that is being offered for the RL and SS is a smaller supercharger pully ( this adds boost and heat at the same time )

about the best thing that has been done to the RL and SS is to slap a turbo with a FMIC to push air into the SC

about the best modd would be to use the bigger SC from the V6 cars with a better water-to-air IC .... but this would take some big fabercation

and your just looking for bolt-ons ?>??? good luck with that

you can see what the MINI S guys are doing too but the factory IC is just a small air-to-air stile so this will not really help

Some of us are running the stock Cobra/Garrett HE inline with the stock one to help with cooling. Personally, I added the BWoody SuperCooler box too (runs regular or dry ice)...as far as the STOCK intercooler, I have yet to hear of a A/M replacement, but I know GMPP is set to come out with a modded endplate to convert our stock unit to a dual pass. I think it'll be cheaper to buy a stock endplate and do the mod myself though.

wow.. mgm's cooling gimmick is about the only thing our right now that is doing anything to assist the cars performance... most the other stuff is just buy my shiney shit that might work as good as stock but we don't have proof... GMPerformance is suppose to have an ecotec tuning catalog out first of the yearish with bits and peices for everything 2.2, 2.0 and 2.4... i would hold off and see what the new year brings before you get all caught up in spending cash

Intercooler or heat exhanger? You can get a 2-pass intercooler plate now and use the cobra heat exhangers. I'll be doing both in the near future.

If you're interested, I can probably get a better price for you...lemme know.

                  http://www.redlineforums.com/forums/per ... cobra+heat

BWoody makes brackets to mount these as well...

I've got a TON of info/data/graphs and shit with this shit, so lemme know what else you need/want to know.

In summary, the dry ice box works - the effect is more obvious with dry ice over regular ice (obviously). The Garrett/Cobra HE is semi-controversial - some have info/data proving it works and others have info/data saying otherwise. Either way, any effect you would see would be up top, when the most air is being forced through it. The Ice Box helps with the the down low AND up top cooling/heating issues.

                    this is some good info

but at this point you are just modding the ( out side of the motor ) heat exchangers

what will really help this car is the modd of the SC and the inside IC

and please do not over look the bennafits of adding a motor oil cooler ( even my N/A LL0 loved having a oil cooler )

BC, the stock oil cooler is cooled by coolant...it has a high turbulator density in a small package to help dispell heat.

The dual pass upgrade for the RL will help alot....PLUS ADD SOME FREAKING WATER WETTER AND A BIGGER PUMP THAT MOVES MORE FLUID.

we did a wet kit on a cobal ss. super easy and made about 280whp on a 50 shot and a stage 2 kit from gm(what ever the hell that is. it made about 220~230 before the spray). super fun car.

modifying a crap core makes it a modified crap core!

there are much better intercooling options out there. custom is going to cost quite a bit.

if someone gives me overal dimesions of the space that it will fit in, i could make a core for you guys. not sure on pricing. it depends on how big of a core. if someone really wants to do it, i'll do the first one for basically cost ($50 over cost or somthing).

I used to think the cooler core under the blower was crap, but then I accually saw it. Its not a bad design. But there are 4 tubes, and the water goes threw one, then the next, then the next and then the last. Buy swapping the end plate, you can have it make a 2 pass threw two rows, increasing the threw put, and having twice as much cool water coming threw....I think they just need to make it one single pass with 4 passages...and a blessing from my nut sack
