• Need a new pully! any suggestions?

well. . .I suppose want is more like it

I definately want to get GM stage 1 and a pully, but i'm not sure which one to get. I was thinking about getting a billetflow interchangable system with a 3.1 and a 2.9 or a 2.7. Run the 3.1 for daily driveing and swappit for the 2.7 at the track. Also, i've heard that you need tuning to run a pully smaller than 2.9, is that true? I would imagine so.

    What do you guys think?

not sure, I would imagine it depends on how dynamic the flash for stage 1 is.

I also remember reading that scott(sp00ner) was maxing out his injectors at some point in the powerband? now I know he has smaller than the 3.1 or 3.0, I want to say 2.7. I'd look into that first and check.

personally, for reliability sake, I wouldn't go smaller than a 2.9 with the stage 1 flash and injectors, then work on bolt-ons and call it a day.

Why did I have a feeling you would be the first to reply to this

But anyways, I was thinking a 3.1 for daily, and a 2.7 for the track (which is only every once in a while)

right but if you're leaning out with the 2.7 because the injectors can't keep up nor can the flash for wahtever reason, you don't want to run it at all. I"ve already seen one piston cooked in an LSJ, would rather not see another one.

i know someone with the 3.1 and the 2.9. The 3.1 gives you around 15psi which is good enough for the street and i think the 2.9 gives you 17-19 which would be good enough without maxing out the injectors and going too lean.

3.1 for the street or just get the 2.9 for everyday.

^^^^^ that sounds like a good suggestion.

Oh, and by the way Vinny, you know you'd be helping me fix it anyways. hahaha

so i take it you are looking into the modular system if your talking about swaping pullies for the track right???

Pressures and stresses of all kinds thermal and mechanical loading across the board escalate to extreme levels. A Chevrolet 5.7-liter LS1 V8 with this much specific power (horsepower per cubic inch) would be making 2,137 hp

That is correct sir, depending on what size I go with for daily driving

with stock programming the smallest you can safely run is a 2.8. stage 1 will allow a 2.7 with out any tuning with HPTuners. any smaller than a 2.7 will definately require the 60lb injectors.

nice dude, you can pull some more power out of the stage1 and pulley using the HPTuners, can also add the rev limiter at 7300 so you can powershift with out bouncing off the revlimiter! i wouldnt recoment driving it past 7k though. just use it as a safety/acceleration mod

Buy the intense-racing.com kit. The stage kit is to much money for the hp you get out of it. I would buy the HP tuners software and a smaller pulley like 2.6 and bigger injectors then go to the dyno and tune the car.

problem is the warrantee. some people do care about it, and the gm stage 1 comes with the 42.5 injectors. Hence you can do a quick hp tune and the dealer will never know, as long as you reflash back to stock stage 1 tune before you get there
