  • proper fuel injectors

    dudes,

i am estimating running about 210hp on boost

the stocker injectors wont cut it i know. ive figured for 290cc/min.

you guys know another gm injector that will fit without issue that can flow that amount?

dont worry...all other fueling issues are handled (pump, etc.)

just need a good injector with 290 flow (not larger than that)

humor me, what other "issues" have you handled and how?

while I do not know what they flow, the Quad 4 injectors fit the Saturn S-Series fuel rails... (they do flow more than stock ones)

dunno if that helps or not

i'm going to 'live dangerously' and just go with larger injectors, the walbro pump to handle the higher pressures and the 290cc/min injectors...i know i know, im going to blow it up running without the ms...

        planning on 8psi

so...anyone know a gm injector that can flow for that?

plus, was the '97 still using a peak and hold type or saturated?

obd2 runs saturated...high impedence. I have a set of 24# Accels. That would help with your fuel problem. $50+ shipping.

            monstah,

thats an awesome price man, really...i think though i've gotta hit at least 290cc/min right if i'm shooting for 210hp?

I think you'll hit that right before you blow it up LOL

even a regular afc would help you out here of some sort

                  turrrrrrrrrbooo,

                  thanks man!

schizzo....little foggy on what you meant? didn't someone say that another guy ran bigger injectors, rrfpr, etc without da' ms and is doing fine?

im gonna run 8psi. figured 290cc/min would cover me with the fuel pressure coming from the walbro 255lph pump. that way if i got to turn up pressure for a bit more fuel flow i'll be cool.

plus, too large and i won't start up and idle right, correct?

                  you guys are great. tanks!

it ran, but I wouldnt' say it ran fine

I hope it works out for you, but in my eyes that's trying to half-ass it (please don't take any offense to that, it's not a stab at you, just my point of view on the matter), and I would never try to cut corners on a fueling solution for a turbo setup.

your fuel pressure will stay the same until you get into boost.

once you hit boost it will rise on a 1:1 ratio assuming you have a return type setup.

I can tell you for a fact, at 8psi, 290cc injectors (assuming 290cc at 3bar of fuel pressure) is iffy on an OBDII setup. Might work, probably wont.

try it out and let us know.

that will tell you what you need.
i still laugh when someone says performance and saturn in the same sentence.

                          jeremy,

i wonder if i use the 290's but push them up higher than 80% duty cycle?

i've been told/read that the 80% thing can be pushed higher if you don't have it there all the time.

i may have to shoot for less boost...maybe 6-7psi?

but i'll let you guys know. i've got a mail into r/c engineering about what the goal is and i'll let you know what i end up with. hope its enough cause i'm wanting to use the stock pcm (no piggys...m/s...nothing).

yeah, but for $250ish... the MS could really save your ass...

290's will fuel about 5-6psi, at least in the powerband. It also depends on the turbo and the setup efficiency.

But, you WILL be lean in your spool range. I can gaurantee that.
