• 1.9's on boost

Since there's so many different things that change thru the 91-03 s-cars what year is the best for a turbo setup? i figured 91-97 becuz of the return fuel line....and the earlier years have a different fuel pump etc. etc.

so any idea which year car/engine would be the best to start with???

THey do it all of the engines more or less

but if you want to be really gun ho w/ it

the 2nd gens will be the best bet

3rd gens have WAY too little ports

a second gen will do better, you can get the SOHC pistons and it will drop you're compression to make it safer

The fuel pump and shit don't worry about it cuz you're going to go boost crazy and you'll end up w/ a way bigger pump later on

if you want the lightest, go for a 96ish sl2 or sw2. Other than that, they are all pretty much the same 91-97.

+1 on what Jayson said. I also don't think there is any basis for saying a 2nd gen is better to run f/i on... I would stay away from 3rd gens unless you want to swap heads and switch to the return style fuel system. Also, if you are going to swap pistons, just go with forged. While the SOHC pistons will lower the compression a little bit, they are still really brittle and are only suitable for low boost.

They are a freakshow for a number of reasons. I always exclude them in my mind when I talk about 1st gens.

yah i have a 99 and becuz of the return fuel line and port problems i figure i'll just get an older one, i want a different car anyway. wouldn't the 1st gen sc's be the lightest?? i found a nice 95 sc2 on autotrader, that just worrys me cuz isn't the 95 a singled out year for sumthin with the cyl. head?? but if the wagons are lighter that could be a fun project.

hence my problem, only parts providers were involved. However, after we did recieve the parts it was just one problem after the other, ask any of the tn guys that worked with me on that pile of shit.
