• Redline Upgrades!

I was searching the web and came across autoweek's new post discussing GM's new performance upgrades for the Redlines and Cobalt SS's. http://www.autoweek.com/news.cms?newsId=103095 . It looks as though we will finally have some upgrades. Thank God! Stage 1 will be upgraded fuel injectors and a ecu reflash resulting in a 20 hp increase. Stage 2 is going to include the Stage 1 stuff with another ecu reflash with a smaller supercharger pulley adding another 20 hp or so. Stage 2 will supposedly add another 20 lb/ft of torque as well. Between Stage 1 and Stage 2 the redlines and SS's should be producing 246 hp and 240 lb/ft. Its a start. Pricing and part availability is going to be announced at SEMA in November. Rumors have it that the parts aren't going to be out until about January.

they should fix the lower trans mount while there at it or is the cobalt different i would assume not

as far as I know the trans mounts are identical between the SS and RL. But yeah your right it should be changed.

Friggin sweet. Can't wait to see what they'll charge for those. Sounds like it would be best to just go straight for the Stage 2. ::anxiously waiting::

im not sure if anybody has thought about that yet but they have thought of putting a turbo on with the S/C. There are a few PSI-FI kits but they went under so theres this other company...Mark or Vinny could help me out on that one i cant think of their name right now...

Are you're talking about the twincharged redlines(turbo and SC). There is a video over at streetfire.net of the first twincharged ion redline. Intense Racing has some new kits out for the redline. Pretty much the same thing as the Psi-Fi kit, but with new fuel injectors.

One of the guys at my dealership has the Psi-Fi Kit.....the guys who helped him put it in said it was a messy and ugly install....lots of piggybacking directly into wires and such. His car doesnt run to well either, continiously throwing Codes (Gotta remind him somehow that he drives a Saturn) and gets some really nasty backfires from it rarely.

Yeah I have the part #'s, but no place to buy the friggin parts. GM really has to get these parts out ASAP. I'm starting to grow impatient.

Well, word that I've heard is that some Saturn dealers will be able to get their hands on the kits (install and reflashes) in July. It's possible the GMPP dealers will have them earlier than that. GM's original plan was for 1st quarter of '06, which would be till the end of March. They still have a couple weeks for that.

As for the Psi-Fi/twincharged stuff, the guys who ran Psi-Fi sort of went under when there was a fight with another group called Rev-It-Up Motorsports. I think there was some problem with one stealing the others ideas or something. Apparently, they've solved their differences and all come together under RIU's label. They are planning 4 different kits, stg 1 and 2 being very similar to the GM kits. Stg 3 is supposedly some type of nitrous (nothing confirmed), but Stg 4 is confirmed to be a twincharged set-up. The guy who started Psi-Fi (i think) has a fully working twincharged set-up on his RL. It's sick. There's a couple of vids of it on the RL forums too. Last I heard, it sounded like he'd finally gotten it tuned and running well. Pretty sick. The thing takes off like a bullet.
