• SAFC Base Map?

I finished rebuilding my engine a while ago, but I have been running around on a gay tune until recently. A friend and I recently made a 2" exhaust for my car last month and I had the O2 bung put in for the wideband. I was just curious if someone with similar mods could give me a base to start the tuning at. I would appreciate any help.

99 Stock Bore Block
99 Polished Crank
91-98 Rods and Pistons
Block has been dipped, and everything balanced
99 P&P Head and Intake Manifold
SDA Street Cams
Fidanza 8lb. Flywheel
WAI
OBX Header

Thanks.

i have an aem cai, bored tb, 92 header and 2.5'' exhaust.

i'm still tuning, but i'm at about -15 from 3000-7000

my car doesnt run as rich as most saturns, so i don't have to take out as much as i've heard from others. i heard that -17 was a good place to start.

yeah i have an SAFCII and i will NOT tune it until i take the time to go to a dyno. other wise i risk killing my car and i don't know about you guys but thats not cool in my book.

as long as you have a wideband, you can do a rough street tune just fine without blowing anything. Especially N/A, you have pretty much nothing to worry about.

you're n/a the most that will happen is that you will have very small detonation and maybe close a plug oh noes!

why dont you just get a wideband and a buddy to watch the wideband?

I just had an idea.

No need for a buddy, or the chance of getting pulled over trying to make pulls and tune your SAFC..

Note: this won't work for any kind of boost.

1) Put Saturn on it's rightful home (Jackstands)
2) Start car
3) Do runs while watching AFR
4) Adjust SAFC
5) Do another run
6) Repeat until all set
7) Set car done, take it for a drive and make sure the wideband is still reading good values.

Bad Idea! you need some kind of resistence to get it right, but funny NTL

i don't think that's true though. i know you need load to create real boost and such, but i don't think it will effect your AFR throughout RPMs..

the thing is you'd run through the RPM range way to fast to be able to view it, while on jack stands. I always wanted to just put the gauge next to the safc2 so I can record it then make adjustments based off the video

Well that won't be a problem if you've got a wideband that datalogs.

Idk, I guess part throttle won't work.. hmm.. idk. Gay.

Just thought I would bring this up, but as of last Friday, I really don't think tuning is even an option for a while.
