• I've got some ???? about SAFC Neo

I want o install a SAFC Neo on my car or another piggyback if there is a better option out there. Not to sound like a retard but what is the difference between the Neo and the SAFC II? What does VAFC mean? How hard to install and tune it? I've never messed with any type of Automotive computer gizmo stuff so hoping to get some help/info here. Thanks!

I've been playing with the SAFC Neo lately.....not as user friendly as the SAFC2.
The VAFC has input for V-Tec control.

So VAFC is a useless option on a Saturn? Would you recommend the SAFC II instead since it is cheaper? Are there any piggyback systems that control both fuel and timing? Anyone use the Greddy E-manage?

I've heard you can set up the "v-circuit" to control something else, but I have no idea what you would want it to do..lol.

N/A, the cheapest easiest way is going to be an SAFC-II.

I don't really even see much of a price difference. the SAFC II's are something like 275 on ebay, and the Neos are 295

Found someone selling a nearly new Neo for $200....should I get it or will I be happier with a SAFC II? I have no plans to go F/I in the future, but I would like to be able to adjust ignition timing along with A/F.....Is there such a piggyback device? I can't go to a stand-alone system as it is illegal in the STS class...piggybacks are ok though.

if you can get the neo for 200bucks, then get it. You would be happier with the multicolor screen over our safc2's

Isn't the Megasquirt a stand-alone? If so, then it's a no-no for me. No one has chimed in on this yet, but is there a piggyback system that allows adjustment of both A/F ratio and ignition timing. The Greddy E-manage looks like it does, but can it be used on our cars?

I am strictly about performance first and ease of use second. Looks don't matter to me at all. If the SAFC II and the Neo offer the same level of performance gains and the SAFC II is easier to use then I'd be inclined to go that route.

So, really two questions here...can the Greddy E-manage be used on a S-Series and if not, is there a performance advantage with either the SAFC II or Neo?

Thanks!

i think the neo has 16 adjustment points. SAFCII had 12.

The SAFC1 is cheap and works just as well as the II...

the emanage cant control spark on our cars without msd interface. i could be wrong, but since it has presets in it it usually cant pick up on such an ignition. the emanage you can control injector pulse width though. but if you even think about the emanage GET THE ULTIMATE!!!!!!!!!!!! it will save you so many headaches.

I believe I read somewhere that the eManage controls the injectors directly, which would make it illegal for use in STS class (I'm assuming this is for your auto-x car). STS rules require that the piggyback device goes between the vehicle's sensors and the PCM. You might want to check that out.

I'm pretty sure that your only options are the S-AFC II and the AFC Neo.

Well The E-manage might be nice and all, but it is a bit pricey for me and the E-manage Ultimate is mega bucks!!! I found a lightly used Neo for $210 shipped....going that way. Since all I have is bolt-ons it will be fine I think. Thanks to all who posted advice.

it actually just taps into the factory wires. it doesnt hijack the injectors. all it does is sends the signal to hold the injector open longer after the factory computer closed it. so your not hijacking to control the injectors
