  • Weird SAFCII Happenign

I slapped in the ol SAFCII in my SC2 a few weeks ago and butt dyno tuned it for a rough 13.1ish AFR, optimal AFR for n/a....

Anyway, today Im putting the pedal to the metal in the Satty and I notice its a tad bit slower than usual

So i do a pull from 1st to third and notice my AFR is runnin about as rich as stock (11-12ish). I check the settings profile and nothing has changed

I lean it out to about 10% more on each RPM setting to see if anything would change. Sure enough that brought the AFR a little leaner towards my 13.1 goal

My question is, could anything of changed with the pcm in the last few weeks to make a sudden change in the AFR? I havent added any new mods or anything like that since the initial install. I dont recall my SL1 doing this either

I imagine it's the same for N/A as it is for us F/I guys, but atmospheric/environmental changes can affect AFR day-to-day, week-to-week, month-to-month.

Was it cooler/hotter compared to last week?

a small amount of air temp /humitity(sp?)change can change it alot.

I would recomend just keep prgm2 stock and use that when the weather changes inless you wanna just tune it for cold

i would suggest always watching a air/fuel meter and up date your tune to your current surroundings and not rely on the butt dyno.

Butt dyno doesn't imply an A/F guage or not, it just means that it was never actually dyno'd.

Speaking of which...I was out, crusing around today. Started bogging REALLY bad...glance over at the WB, and it's 17 something. (This was partial throttle)

Some quick math, and I just figured it was defaulting to the HI TP, so I raised LO to 40% and HI to 90%. Couldn't get it to bog after that...hmm....

it wasn't bogging, probably was leaning if you hit 17

I want to say I"ve seen most of the guys have HI at 80-90, not sure about LO

for me 85 high 30 low right now. I think Allens walkthrough said 25 low 75 high to start, but I didn't like where it was leaning at so I moved it higher

so if you are supposed to tune it according to the weather that the car sees most of the time what would you suggest for weather like mines.....
its been in the 90's during the day and the 40's during the night.

Can you store multiple settings with the SAFCII? I completely forget.

If you can, have a cold/hot preset.
