  • Chip Modules?

Hey everyone. I just installed a new air intake. Anyways, i'm looking for a few other ways to build some performance. I found a chip module that basically works with your air intake and it basically alters a signal sent to the computer, but it supposebly does not alter the signals so that it goes out of manufacturer specifications, it just maxes them out or something. I was just wondering if anyone has used one, or if they work ok? One of my friends has one for his Escort ZX2, and says it works great for his. I just wanted to get some more opinions before i did anything.

Also, other than an intake, what are some good ways to add some horsepower without clearing my bank account?

Here's a link to one of the chip modules: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Saturn-S ... enameZWDVW

    Thanks.

nope, that's garbage, pretty common ebay scam too. doesn't do jack and some cause problems/damage.

porting the throttle body can be good and pretty cost effective. making sure your car runs properly (i.e. up to date with maintenance) helps also.

what all is already on your sl2?

                  bad bad bad bad

A good idea would be a wideband (mine just arrived via UPS) and some kind of fuel controler

Yeah I already kinda figured, but other than that...any ideas for improving performance? I'll check on Vinny's idea....oh and to answer your question, all i have at the moment is a ram air intake from bomz racing for performance.

the intake temp. reads at 90 degrees when the car is off.... but after 10 minutes of the car being on it reads 60 degrees.

idk if thats what the chip does
