  • best gear to spray?

I was wondering when to spray. I also wanted to know procedures. OK, I'm spraying with window switch and want(or need) to disable the system, Do I let off the gas slowly to get the WOT to disengage? or can I just let go of throttle? and with shifting gears do I try to keep the RPMs to real high to rev limit? Lastly what gears are best to spray in?

A Chevrolet 5.7-liter LS1 V8 with this much specific power (horsepower per cubic inch) would be making 2,137 hp

Just let off like you normally would...and DON"T HIT THE REV LIMITOR.

The gears you want to spray in are the gears that you still have traction in.

Ok I wasn't sure with the wet kit and all the safeties. I was a passenger in a supercharged V6 fiero with a 100 shot dry, when he blue all 6 piston rings by letting go of the gas at a VERY high speed, thus spinning the car in a 1435deg kinda way. So letting off gas normallty will disengage due to the WOT and if I set my RPMWS at 5500 I could (in theory) just pass through the spray?

-Anytime above 3 grand. You say you are using a window switch?? Digital is easier but the manual w/ pills works too. 3200 is a good safe point to start and I have my shut off set at 6300. You DO NOT want to spray into the limiter, if you do very bad things happen.

              - The WOT only activates when the throttle is fully depressed. If you install the switch correctly, it should only "click" when the throttle arm on the TB is all the way open. This activates the fuel/n20 solenoids and also shuts them off when you let off. Before I got smart and purchased a window switch, I used to launch at almost WOT so as not to hit the WOT switch and spray under 3k. Window corrects that problem.

              - not real clear on that one, I shift quickly through the gears so it's not an issue, especially with the lightweight flywheel, rpm's drop fast.

-Again, over 3k but it's mainly common sense here. I have done it off the line and have downshifted on the highway to merge with it, it all depends. Any gear that you are not spinning lol. Just use common sense.

Do you still shift at 6500? or shift at 6300?

yeah, gotta agree with both you and Josh on that one, second is fun but running somebody from a 3rd roll is teh bestest.

I dunno, I like my 2nd roll fine since it's a bit taller than the mp3, but 3rd is a beast once I'm moving.
