  • Wiring, Again

Jeremy drew up this "diagram" a while back,

just wondering which poles on the relay the wires splice into.

    like 87,30, etc...

ok, i did the above wiring minus the purge setup...when it came to wiring things to the relay, i wired the activation switch to 30, which i know is right...everything else i just guessed on

now, when i turn on the system my window switch comes on, i set the on point for the circuit at 0 RPM's so i can caliber my TPS switch...however, my TPS switch doesnt seem to be getting power....

did i wire a relay wrong? the window swtich is hooked up to the number 85 or 86...its the one on the right if you have the relay turned upside right

Flip the relay over, it should give you the numbers. Also look on the side of the relay, it should tell you how it set up (Wether it be NO or NC). Recheck and then get back to it.

the switches go on the 85 and 86 pins...

the big power item goes on 87

                  direct power goes to 30

when you throw the switch the 85 and 86 coils energizes... tranfers the power of the 30 pin into the 87 pin

i appreciate it guys, but i just ditched the TPS since it wasnt workin for w/e reason. I still dont understand how relays work, ya know? I know their function and all but dont get how the opereate. I will research it futher

Anywho, I've ditched the TSP and am now just using the uber gay micro switch in conjuction with the MSD Window Switch....

Now I'm just waiting on the RIGHT fuel line and fitting...sheesh

ok ok, so essentially...when I flick on my activation switch, it turns on the MSD Window switch...and when that reaches the desired RPM, it grounds the realay thus sending power to the tps, and when the tps is at WOT, it grounds the solenoids thus activating them? something like that

                          im a visual learner, thanks!

                            almost

it's a chain is more like it, at least teh way I have mine wired, which is probably how Jeremy wrote up how to do yours

in your chain you've got your main arming first, then you've got your WOT or TPS on the hot side (85) of the relay switch portion, and your MSD Window Switch is going to give and take your ground of the relay itself (86).

you go wide open and the WOT or TPS completes it's end and sends positive to the relay at 85. then as you reach your RPM the ground is sent to the relay at 86. at that point, the relay kicks over and completes the main circuit, and sends positive to the solenoids, which you already have grounded over where they're mounted with the one out of each pair off of each one.

I forgoet if TPS works with ground, so if it does, then you always have the hot side/positive going to 85 when armed, and you just have two breaks to link on the ground (RPM switch and TPS), but the basic idea is the same.
