  • Thoughts On OBX Header

I already have my own opinion on OBX, Ive had the header in two of my cars

However someone is arguing the 91-92 header is much better, because it bolts right up and the o2 sensor is in a better spot. The say the sensor is only reading off of 2 cylinders which will screw up your car.

The OBX flows better, and the sensor location is fine., providing you don't missfire on the other two cylinders. Haha.

havent upgraded yet but in the end they will both flow better than the regular cast manifold. it just depends if you want the looks or not.

the biggest issue is what will hold up the longest given the whole cracking problem with the welds on some headers.

I heard the 92 was better but you can only get the OBX for my application so I went with it and like it(for what it's worth). I will be selling mine dirt cheap in the summer

i agree with u on that one. obx is a lil better than 92 IMO. I have owned both. but better than both would be the old sps tri Y.... god those things are a great design.

you did a twin cam swap right, so did you go with the 5 bolt head? that will make decision alot quicker if its a 9 bolt.

honestly, i would probably just run the 91-92 and clean it up. and the obx wont crack IF you have the mount put on it so it moves with the engine from top and bottom.

I believe that the OBX makes an improvement (although slight, I'm sure) on 91/92 models, so it must be better in some respect.

                              Header related question...

I just got a 5-bolt OBX header & downpipe along with a bunch of other stuff. It didn't occur to me at the time, however, about the bolt pattern difference - I have a '99 SC2 with the 9-bolt pattern.

                              Any chance of an adapter?
