  • Fidanza Clutch for IRL !?!?!?

We all know about the flywheels...but, HammerDown (Mike) just turned me on to the fact that Fidanza HAS actual clutches for us as well. Poking around on their website, and I found this application guide.
    http://www.fidanza.com/Files/clutchappguide.pdf

Sure enough, Chevy Cobalt SS AND the Ion RedLine are specifically mentioned/referenced with the SAME part #.

Only catch is, I've checked about a half-dozen of the "distributors" on their list (jegs, summit, etc) and nothing listed. I'll probably give them a call, and see what the deal is, but wondering if anyone else has heard about these...???

    More Detailed info:

Combine carbon and Kevlar, give them a steel backing and you have the most durable and longest lasting street clutch available. Weأƒئ’أ‚آ¢أƒآ¢أ¢â‚¬إ،أ‚آ¬أƒآ¢أ¢â‚¬إ¾أ‚آ¢ve engineered our torsion damper and marcel cushion to engage smoothly yet quickly. Perfect for the daily drivers. We recommend this disc to those who drive their vehicle every day, in all conditions.

    3.2 Performance Clutch
Like our lightweight flywheels we choose to use the very best in materials. Thatأƒئ’أ‚آ¢أƒآ¢أ¢â‚¬إ،أ‚آ¬أƒآ¢أ¢â‚¬إ¾أ‚آ¢s why we designed our Three Point Two with the Kevlar buttons. With 100% Kevlar friction you get more grip and more life than the Two Point One. However, since it has no marcel (cushion) this disc sacrifices a little bit of its smooth engagement. Still, this disc can be installed on a daily driver. Just behave and be patient during itأƒئ’أ‚آ¢أƒآ¢أ¢â‚¬إ،أ‚آ¬أƒآ¢أ¢â‚¬إ¾أ‚آ¢s 500 mile break-in period. Once thatأƒئ’أ‚آ¢أƒآ¢أ¢â‚¬إ،أ‚آ¬أƒآ¢أ¢â‚¬إ¾أ‚آ¢s over you can be as nasty as you want.

    4.3 Performance Clutch
This is one mean clutch. Your footwork better be good, itأƒئ’أ‚آ¢أƒآ¢أ¢â‚¬إ،أ‚آ¬أƒآ¢أ¢â‚¬إ¾أ‚آ¢s no walk in the park. Just because it has a torsion damper like the Three Point Two doesnأƒئ’أ‚آ¢أƒآ¢أ¢â‚¬إ،أ‚آ¬أƒآ¢أ¢â‚¬إ¾أ‚آ¢t mean it drives like it. Those are ceramic buttons attached to that puck. They provide quite a grip upon engagement. That means power is planted straight to the pavement. Donأƒئ’أ‚آ¢أƒآ¢أ¢â‚¬إ،أ‚آ¬أƒآ¢أ¢â‚¬إ¾أ‚آ¢t be scared though, itأƒئ’أ‚آ¢أƒآ¢أ¢â‚¬إ،أ‚آ¬أƒآ¢أ¢â‚¬إ¾أ‚آ¢s not going to give you a larger left leg.

    5.4 Performance Clutch
If you choose Five Point Four youأƒئ’أ‚آ¢أƒآ¢أ¢â‚¬إ،أ‚آ¬أƒآ¢أ¢â‚¬إ¾أ‚آ¢re either building an all out race car or a rocket. This disc will show you what grip really feels like. As you can see there is no torsion damper, no marcel, and the pads are made from sintered iron. What youأƒئ’أ‚آ¢أƒآ¢أ¢â‚¬إ،أ‚آ¬أƒآ¢أ¢â‚¬إ¾أ‚آ¢ll feel أƒئ’أ‚آ¢أƒآ¢أ¢â‚¬إ،أ‚آ¬أƒآ¢أ¢â€?آ¬أ…“ instantaneous power. This is for the racers.

Yeah, I was looking at those when I got my flywheel but couldn't find any either. I like the idea of having a sprung hub on the 6 puck design.

ok why is the 3.2 a four puck but has more life than the 2.1? I was looking at basically either of those, and was leaning toward the 3.2 but on the site it shows a 4 puck sprung hub disc. if that's the case fuck that I"ll stick with the 2.1 unit.

they just say that to keep people interested who want long life. im sure it will last quite a while, but the 2.1 should last, in my opinion, at least twice as long.

see that's what I"m thinking too. I want a street disc that is more durable and maybe stronger than OEM, that's all, no need for a 6 puck or 4 puck at this point.

I cant get to the site. What are the prices on these? I guess i got to get a different one since everyone has problems with the CM's. Does ACT even plan on making one for the RL?
