  • Valves??

OK I am taking the 91 head that I have apart and using it for scrap metal but I would like to take out the valves. Do I need a special tool to do that. I know the 91-93 valves can be used in later heads to raise compression.

Is it worth my while to take them out and possibly use them latter when I build a head for my 01 satty??? I know they will need to be ground and what not before they are usable.

you can use the special tool, or a socket on a small extension, whack with hammer method. That's the easiest/fastest/most dangerous

and those valves will raise compression but they won't fit in the 99+ heads.

what you really need is the c clamp style valve remover...rather than the cork popping kind

you can rent them at almost any auto store
