  • Auto shift kits?

I've been googling and haven't come up with much yet, thought maybe somebody here might have come across something.

I have an '00 SL2 with an automatic, I like manuals and have been thinking of doing a swap but the lady occassionally needs to drive this car and doesn't handle manual well yet. I'd rather put the wrench time elsewhere but had a fun idea.

I like the thought of a shift kit for the auto, but don't know if anyone makes one for this vehicle. Could be fun to run paddles behind the wheel, who knows. Probably just a pipe dream but thought I'd ask.

AFAIK there are no shift kits for a Saturn auto. Can your lady learn to drive a manual? FWIW, Saturns are about the easiest manual car in the world to drive.

I believe it, thing is she's been rather hard on some vehicles in the past and from because shes' a biker would almost definitely be a clutch-rider, I'd rather avoid the headache and keep driving automatics until I get another project car that's all mine. Just hauled two Daytonas and the family sedan to the junkyard this weekend, two out of those three were hauled off because of something that happened when she was behind the wheel, the third (my baby) was vandalized beyond being worthwhile to repair.

I guess I'll go manual in my next car, I've been holding out for a Redline, she can drive her jeep and the SL2 can be the family/backup car.

Just thought I'd check. I've seen a few universal kits out there that supposedly work on GM vehicles, not too sure how much downtime we'd be talking or even how well it would work, hence my wondering if one was made specifically for this car.

Just out of curiosity (the manual is on its way, haven't had the car long)...what transmission is in this thing anyway? How do I find out?

It currently has an MP7. It's the 4-speed auto with the shorter ratios.

teach your woman how to drive right or tell her not to drive at all.

weld the diff pin in while your at it.

A Chevrolet 5.7-liter LS1 V8 with this much specific power (horsepower per cubic inch) would be making 2,137 hp

I already asked this question a few weeks back. And was told there is no such thing, there was a custom built torque convertor that was liek $1000+, but i didnt pay much attention to it after i saw the price. AT FTL.... MT FTW...
