what year is the ion? if it's an 05 or newer, i'll bet ya that you got the old style CAI which'd trip the SES.

if it's an 03 or 04, then ignore what i just said and wait till someone with a MAP'd 2.2 sees this.

yeah, sorry i can't help more.

wait till some of the other guys get a chance to see this. and while you're waiting, some more info on the setup and possibly some pics if ya got em would help figure out what's going on.

yeah disconnecting the negative terminal will clear the memory of codes. Then when it starts up it might run funky for a little while until it rewrites the tune, etc.

well, if any one wanted to know.... the engine reset worked perfect after taking the neg wire off for a lil bit...

but, i'm sure every one knows this.. but, to make sure.. before you drive off, make sure you CAI is firmly connected.. lol
my dumbass friend forgot to tighten up the connection sleeve to the throttle body... lol!!!
it fell off while he was driving and started rubbing on the belts!!!
man, he thought somthin was FKED up!! lol
his face looked like he just got done crapping himself...

oh well, i could even tell the picked up throttle responce... not much on HP..
