the mk1 is a direct copy of the b&m one for the cavalier and sunfire which i have. the only thing the b&m has over the mk1 is the aluminum pivot point which does break right tim??? lol.

oh the b&m also comes with a shift knob

Pressures and stresses of all kinds thermal and mechanical loading across the board escalate to extreme levels. A Chevrolet 5.7-liter LS1 V8 with this much specific power (horsepower per cubic inch) would be making 2,137 hp

The plastic pivot broke, b/c I broke it when I was removing it from the pivot point. Not from slamming and jamming gears. I would like to get that aluminum pivot point though...

The MK1 is a decent shifter. I'm looking at a TWM replacement though. I cut my MK1 to fit a shift knob on it and I don't like it now. Need to replace it. Good piece though, really makes a diference in the fun factor during 'spirited driving', if you can call a wallowing cow getting up and moving fun lol. I love my Ion.

yeah, i saw the twm also...... yet, a "okay" shifter... that does the job well, maybe not the best, but.. half the price of the twm will do... lol
even though im sure the twm is a far better quality product.. saving 70 bucks sounds good also.. i also am not a big fan of the shift knob that comes with the twm.. i prefer the ones that roll forward.. much like the factory knob...
oh well... just rambling now
thanks for the help yall...
going with the mk1.. maybe i will be the one pissed off when it breaks...
there will be a forum..
later guys

I had the MK1 when I had my '03 QC and it was great. I never had a problem with it. Definetly worth the money I payed for it.
