• what do i need? [engine build]

to rebuild my engine and have it support 10 lbs of pressure?

so far i wrote a few things i found on a few sites

DOHC hyperutectic pistons
hasting chrome rings
High flow performance valves
Hi-temp valve seals
Forged Rods
Power cams
--------
fuel injectors, fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator
do i need just one or all of them?
--------

do i need all of this? or can i run boost with just a few of these things.
i want my car to run its best it can N/A before i boost.

but all that totaled is like.... 2 grand... i dont have this much time or money.

i want to do this and get supercharged before jan.

you will need something to control the fuel. SAFC or MS or something along those lines ($2-300)

injectors, probably 30# would do it. ($50)

boost maker - turbo or SC ($500-1000)

intercooler ($1-300)

piping / oil lines ($100ish)

tap the oil pan for a return ($50)

wastegate (if not equiped on the turbo) ($100ish)

BOV
($100 ish)

I put some high estimates in there. That should be a minimum requirement list for 10psi of boost. (this does not include the Silva's - 6psi trapping 115ish) The stock rods can handle around 10lbs - but that is about it. Of course, boosting anything stock is risky, but has been done many times.

Anyone like to add anything?

starter is like what 100ish? and clutch cables I am guessing arent more than 100, so how is that going to not let you got turbo?

Aside from doing the whole"gathering" maneuver, you need to do research. If anything, start reading now, atleast once a week, and BY january you MIGHT be ready.

i actually have the supercharger at here at home. i already have the plan for my setup.
cables are actually 244, stoped by the dealer because nobody had them.(autozone, pepboys, advance discount...etc and the starter is 124. and then getting them put in.

i was actually on my way to go dyno my car when the clip of the cable broke.
and the starter, i knew this was gonna happen sooner or later... but didnt expect it...

and yea, this is pretty much my last check... im going to ask them for a break. untill school starts again. i need some time off. especially now we just got a new boss...

ok so you have a plan......and....If I wanted to I could go plan a turbo or nitrous set up for my car, but it doesnt necessarily know that I know how everything in it works does it. Knowledge is money in a sense. Id rather know my stuff and not get ripped off and get what I can that wont go over my budget, but not just settle for cheap stuff.

downpipe

EGT (I highly recommend this)

I/c Pipes.

Vacuum lines.

Premium gas

spark plugs (2 step colder)

air filter

Flanges

Gaskets

a bunch of misc fittings.

it goes on and on.
