well its done... http://www.racerelated.com provided the labor and dyno and their tuner Jeremy Formato (do a search on his name... if your not impressed your an idiot) did a wonderful job on the application.

    what it took.
zzperformance $99 modular pulley with 3"
    zzperformance $99 tensioner
    shipping $18
racerelated $475 installation and tuning by Jeremy Formato
    total $691

what i got was a fabulous job and after about 8 or 9 dyno runs at over 100F ambient tempeture and 67% humidity i got a 232hp 209torgue pull... and the engine was hot as shit well over 200

also learned today was that the stock injectors are more than adequit for over 300hp there is no need to upgrade them until 300 its well passed. I installed the 42lb injectors because i ordered them(learn from my mistake)
and they only ever got to a 44% load after tuning.

The hptuners box is a beautiful thing, those of you who bought one i wish you luck in getting a good tune.. there is so much shit there its confusing.

we also ran a oem tune with the pulley like you would buy at the dealership and it only got 207 on the dyno... pretty shitty i though.

anyway there will be a movie of it all soon with dyno sheets also the guys at Racerelated are eager to do more rl/cobalts and are willing to deal if say 5 or more people want to schedule on the same day...

    KICK ASS dude!

Your being frugal with that 3", you could probably drop it down to a 2.6" and get another 15-20 out of her on that same tune.

15-20... i think not... this guys been through a couple of them already and he says the smaller pulleys just draw a little quicker maybe 5-10 top end.. he gave me some pointers and i think i got my next two steps already planned out...

also the air intake never drew a temperature higher than ambient temperature and the fan was a good 12 feet away the whole time.

I'd like to see the dyno graph just for fun

that's more torque than most of them have put out so far but I bet you can get more, and you and I both know how now. for a basically stock car with just a 3" pulley and tune that's sweet though, says a lot. I think a smaller pulley will help midrange a bit too.

when we get into more balls out stuff I think you're going to see why those larger injectors are needed. Some guys were leaning out up top with the 2.7 and smaller pulley on there but that was also on a stock tune, and also possibly overdriving the thing like we were discussing.

yeah its still james and a smaller pulley and exhaust are next... that black cobalt is runing a 2.6 pulley with full exhaust ecotec header and open downpipe and was tuned by the same guy i think he's about 250-260 ish....

That's pretty cool to hear someone up in this area is using hptuners now. I didn't want to be the first anywhere, and Kelly Chevy in Hallendale is starting to use it now too. With the 2.6, exhaust and a tune, he should be closer to 270 range I would think. One of the mods on the RL boards dyno'd with his K&N cai, stage 1, and 2.7 pully and pulled 260/225 hp/tq. Maybe it's the heat too, because I've seen what that can do to our cars. Where exactly is this shop located?

not with the stock exhaust manifold he wouldn't. a full length header like the weapon r and a 3" exhaust would help a ton.
