• 3.0L V-6

Does anyone in here have any information on as possibilites and upgrades that our out there for this enging?

This fall I am planning on having my motor rebuilt and having everything that you can do for performance done to it.

I have been looking for links and items to make this happen.

I know there is a lot out there for the 2.2L but what out the 3.0L's?

Any information would be very helpful.

    Thanks in Advance!

        That's tough man.
You might want to look into some of the Cadillac forums for ideas...it's the same engine from the Catera (the Caddy that zigs).

        There has to be something.

Maybe port/polish the heads, open up the exhaust, let it breathe. Best of all, lighten it. Lose whatever dead weight you can live without in there, that'll make a huge improvement on performance, and it's free!

Get rid of it. All the things that do go wrong with those engine is expensive and a PITA to get to.Oil cooler is the #1 thing, then you have the water pump, and the timing belt idles...and the oilcooler/coolant jacket cover....ummm Expect chopping tires, even IF it has had the suspension mod/upgrade. Ihave seen alot of these things man...and they don't get pretty after about 75K miles.

pretty sure he is talking about the opel 3l v6 in the L300's.

Oh forgot the throttle body problems too, those are always fun.

LOL...I was thinking the exact same thing, but didn't want to crush his enthusiasm about the car.

I am just curious on what I can possibly get out of that motor while keeping it looking stock on the outside.

just like everyone said get rid of it. I had a 97 Catera with the same opel 3l v6 in it. Complete garbage. If you were to ask me what went wrong with it I would come back and ask you what didnt go wrong with it. If anything youll be wasting your time and money just to see it shit the bed.

Gotta agree with Sam and Jay on that one, that motor is just a disaster waiting to happen.

Not to be negative on what you want to do, but it's just not worth the time and definately the money!!!

                            3.5l Honda FTW!

i can agree there too, and that 3.0 seemed to also have an issue with sudden stalling and no start. i remember one old ladies caddy died in front of us and i checked it out and she said it was just in the dealer for this.

hhmmmmmm, opel owners are going crazy over the whole new saturn ion thing saying its a disgrace to opel, yet it seems opel is a disgrace
