• Exhaust Dump/Cat/Glasspack ?'s

    So yeah, I was thinking:

My car is a 93 and from the sound of it the cat is gone lmao

anyways, I wanted to put a dump pipe on it for a while now, this this is what I was wondering to do:

Take out the cat, apperantly the bastard doesn't have an o2 after the cat so it won't even notice it

    ok

then put a dump pipe 1st and then put a glasspack

like here is the order of how it will go:

    Headers-----Dump--Glasspack-------------------------------Exhaust

C? I think it'll be a good idea, it'll help with sound (lower and deeper)

plus w/ flow cuz of the dump

Any ideas on Yes or No?

Don't know about length thinking about getting the 18 incher one (hehe 18 inches of long hard...JK)

and then getting a 2 1/2 dump tube

    Any help from ANYBODY

a 12" to 18" glass pack will work fine

match it to the size of your piping for the rest of the exhaust

and yes put the dump before the glass pack, i.e. right off the header's downpipe.

just make sure you go with the same size dump as your downpipe diameter. you want everything to be the same to reduce any turbulence from piping transitions during flow

That REALLY helped I was just going to get a 2 1/2 dump pipe and stick it in

hmm I have to go c how wide the stocker pipe is

^^^Yeah I still got the stock mani, havn't gotten enough mad mullah to get the nicer one

and my cat back hehe. It's more like a magnaflow and that's it, no pipping done to it. Cops are REALLY anal here about sound levels that's why I didn't do anything to it and I want to slam on the dump tube

The Glasspack is just so it won't sound so damned ricie

ok well you need to decide what size piping you're going with then later on

considering engine size I would stick with 2 1/4", so I would get that size dump and glass pack, then later on get the piping done.

Thank you machito lindo ahhiiii mis bolitas estan felices!!!!!!

I was actually thinking of that same size. seeing the whole Miata's intake it doesn't flow that much AT ALL hehe

My mom is getting me a dremel Vin, think I can P&P my own Intake mani??

                I think I can, cuz I'm type R!

I'm not looking at that, I'm considering the entire flow potential of the engine. I don't think it will flow enough without major modification to take advantage of 2 1/2" piping from the cat back. as it is you're going to remove the cat, so that alone will free up flow up top.

keep in mind, that with the transitions from stock to 2 1/4 and back your'e going to have turbulence, so it might not feel like an actual gain or much of one until you upgrade the rest of the piping.

                    hhhmmm that's true...

But at least when I got to the track. (or sneak it to the races ) I can have the benefit of a all out dump on it.

eh, maybe it'll be good psychologically, keep me from racing cuz I know it's going to run like stock
