  • ION3 High Idle?

For some reason our ion3 is idling at around 2k for no particular reason

    is this normal?

it's never done it before, but my wife's been all up in my shit because of it

it's got an AEM cold Air intake, but it's been on there awhile and never did it before...

    any ideas?

Brian go see if there is a Vacuum leak somewhere if you havent already. If its not thta it sounds like a IAC like Jay said. Some carbon may be holding open or something.

there's not many places it could have a vaccum leak in relation to the intake though, there's no PCV on this engine. it might just have gunk up in the IAC. the only time I had mine act funky was when I fried the fusebox junction under the hood, and I doubt you guys did that Brian.

The 2.4 does...or its some other abbreviation, but it is variable cam timing on both the intake and exhaust cam.

well, i had bought the car hoping to put a supercharger on it, but i was advised against it due to the vvt. i asked about it on here a while ago. and also, i know it's not the vvt, but when i put the fujita intake on, and it messed up the idle really bad, i just started to dislike the whole thing.

of course, now my redline's in the shop, not running, so it probably serves me right for trading up. lol
