What does everyone think of the ACT 6 puck as a daily driver clutch?

I'm still not sure whether I'll have enough money for FI this year, but I don't want to go buying a stock clutch just to replace it in a few months. So I'm considering the 6 puck, but I hear it's a real bitch in traffic.

My legs aren't the strongest in the world, but they're alright, I do 30 reps of 210lbs on the leg press if that gives anyone an idea.

What's the next step down in ACT-land, and would that hold ~200-250hp?

Thanks

the act 6 puck isnt that bad once you learn it.

pretty much just rev to like 1800 and dump the clutch.

Oh, well I was thinking when they referred to "streetable", they were talking about how difficult it becomes to hold down?

If it just requires readjusting how you drive, that's not too bad. I'm a relatively quick learner.. I think. =)

Yeah, it just takes time to learn it. You just don't have the ability to "ease" it in, it's either engaged or not, if that makes sense.

There are alot of guys on here that use the ACT 6 puck in their daily drivers with no problems, it just sucks in traffic lol.

i just helped p.j (netpro55) put one in his car. he said its a huge difference over the spec stage 3 in the clutch feel. i rode along and it snaps real quick and locks right in.

if you put it in, i would suggest (as with jumping into any car with a manual) to mess with the clutch a bit before actually driving it so you know how it reacts. if you dont, then your leg is normally going to react like its what you already drive. pump the clutch a few times, then start easing out slowly and play around like that till you think you know how it feels.

2) it grips like hell and is very streetable.

the puck will allow you to chirp 4th is what he's saying.
i recommend the 6 puck to any saturn owner. i drove jaysons and it was not any worse than the clutch in my truck. it was lighter(as in, holding it to the floor is not as tiresome as it is in my taco) and i really liked how quick the transition from disengaged to engaged is. it wasnt tough to me at all, i could still burn that clutch.
i guess i forgot to say my truck is only a '96 4 cyl toyota with the stock clutch. so im saying there are stock clutches out there from the same model year that are way worse in streetability than the act 6 puck for saturns.

haha yeah exactly my truck is nothing compared to that. ive driven an 80s chevy 5 speed with a granny gear, i guess making it a 4 speed, and i dont know how the guy could drive that thing daily jesus christ. and he was always amazed at how fast i could shift: i finally found out why when it toof 10 secons to go from 2nd to 3rd (like 1st to 2nd).

haha, yeah. that truck i drove wasnt meant to be on the road. it was more of a farm truck an towing things around so it needed that bitch of a clutch. damn thing was revving up high in top gear, which was 3rd, so i could touch the gas and go . i liked it but when i hopped into my car, felt like i didnt have a clutch.

but yeah im sure id love the feel of the act, but my suggestion to find out if you would like it is to find like one of these vehicles and feel the clutch. like these 80's model heavy duty trucks or some old vehicles with monster engines.
