You can see in the pics how it's pulling on the pillar trim.

Can you do me a favor and measure from the end of your cross bars to the tower? Do it from the top. I don't trust mine since it moved and it's a bitch to get accurate from the underside with the bike carriers installed.
It's not my fault, blame the radiation.

Just eye balling your Q towers and I think they are too far out (or twisted;left tower further forward than right). When you compare to my photo you see there is a good 1/4 inch plus gap from the tower pad to the inner edge of trim. I'll try to get a measurement tomorrow from load bar end to outer edge of the Q tower but the measurement in the diagram is inner edge to inner edge of both Q towers. The front bar measurement is 34 7/8 and the rear bar is 33 5/8.

I saw the same thing. Before, clamping, mine look like yours. I did tighten them more after the rack came lose, that's why they are pulling more on the trim.

Alright, dark as dark can be outside but I threw on a headlamp and measured. Too dark for photos though. Mine are set at 4 7/16 for the front on both sides and 5 3/16 for the rear on both sides. That was measured with caps on.

            Thank you very much.

I won't have time tomorrow to mess with it. Will report back soon.

Here's some information summarized from another thread that should be recorded here ....

The Thule 400 and 800 series foot packs are compatible with the S Series and require an Thule LB50 load bar (or longer if required) and the appropriate Thule fit kit as per the guide below. All of these have been discontinued by Thule but can be found NOS or used.
              Kit 157 - Gen1 Sedan and Wagon
              Kit 2018 - Gen2/3 Coupe
Kit 2060 - Gen2/3 Sedan (Note: can be used on a Gen2/3 coupe too, it has 1 additional part that is not needed)
              Kit 265 - Gen2/3 Wagon

For the GEN2/3 coupe and sedan the mount is permanently installed and requires you to remove the roof trim above the door for installation. Refer to the photo in POST 10 for the finished look with rack installed and not installed.

The links above will take you to the installation instructions from the http://pauloang.com/thule_fit_kits/ website.

I imagine if one preferred Yakima racks (like myself) you could use the permanently mounted Thule anchors and the appropriate Q clip used for similar Yakima permanent mounts (truck caps, trailers, ect..) to get the best of both systems.

FWIW, I am selling one of the Thule perma-mount setups here: https://sixthsphere.com/showthread.p...3G-sedan-coupe

I also have a set of pads/clamps for the 1G cars, so if whoever buys is only is willing to separate those out I could pass them on to someone as well.

Just purchased the Thule 2060 kit via eBay as I already have the towers and LB50 bar. Though my "NIB" kit did not include the "tensioning attachment" that goes in between the drip rail and left on the car. Would anyone know what this is called or if it was actually supposed to come with my kit?

1996 SC2 Roof Rack- Do they exist?

Anybody have a solution that doesn't involve ratchet straps or know of a functional universal kit?
