  • More headlight issues.

So my driver's side headlight, which was purchased abuot 9 months ago, forms condensation in it and one of the tabs on the positioning bracket has broken off already. And I can't find the receipt. Fuck.

Passenger side headlight is scratched as hell, and I have been unable to polish it after many many attempts. The same tab busted on that light as well.

^^The tab that keeps breaking. It allows motion in the direction of the arrows, which translates into up-down when bolted up to the car.

Anyone know where I can find good headlights for a reasonable price with a nice fat warranty? I'm getting tired of this shit.

Prices also seem to have gone up significantly since I last looked. Cheapest I can find is $162 each from Advance Auto.

Anyone know if just the mount/bracket assembly can be replaced on the back of the light?

Give Saturn Auto Salvage a call:

          http://www.saturnautosalvage.com/

No warranty, but hopefully cheap enough that it won't matter.

When are these tabs breaking? Just at random times, or are you adjusting the lights when it happens? Just curious...

Dont know when they break. Just happened to notice when working on the car that the headlight seemed a little loose.

I'd prefer to stray from a junkyard light as the lenses aren't very clear... a problem with my OEM light. And they are almost impossible to polish up. But if they are cheap enough I can overlook that. I'll just buy some brighter bulbs and wire up the low/high @ same time relay.

Good company -- I buy from them all the time.

That's where the one in that picture came from. The one that has condensation inside it and is already busted.

Are you just straight polishing the headlights? If your ambitious try wetsanding (800-1000-1500-2000) and then polish (more to it than that but thats the jist)... thread on Honda-Tech on restoring headlights. Or clear em'. Maybe drill a small hole somewhere discrete to let the condensation evaporate? *shrug*

why would you drill a hole? just take the bulbs out, there are plenty of holes once you do that. I took my headlights out and left them in my heated garage over night and all the condensations dried right out.
