My cool idea.

i was working today, and out of nowhere, i got an awesome idea. i am going to make my side emblems back lit and use them as side markers. the ion emblems come apart, so i took the red out of them and replaced it with clear plastic and used some window tint on the plastic to make it look black.. i thought it was a cool idea. has anyone done this before?

the one on the right has a flashlight behind it. what do you think?

on the hood, would be cop magnet. on the side though, dunno, cause a lot of cars have backlit side markers... put up some pics when you finish it [img]{SMILIES_PATH}/smile.gif[/img]

I was actually thinking about doing something like that, I would use smoked amber though. Just haven't gotten around to messing with it yet. Curious to see how it comes out though

Agreed, European cars have small amber side markers on them all the time and it's no issue. Having an amber or smoked amber light behind those would be fine, I am sure. It might look cool as a constant side marker that flashes with the turn signal or just constant.
