  • The Gauge Clusters

So for the longest time now Dad has had these two 2 5/8 gauges in place of the vents in his 95' SW2 for quite awhile now. When the Saturn Vue came out with the chrome bezeled gauge cluster Dad just had to have it so his stock gauge cluster could mimic the autometer gauges. After a very long hunt he got his hands on a this bezel, at the cost of $125... It is going to take a custom touch to make it work. The one piece bezel itself had to be seperated into three seperate ones, but I think it'll result in a more finished look anyway. More updates to follow...

Thanks, I saw that thread last week courtesty of my son, and it got me inspired enough to track down a VUE cluster. He's the one who posted the pictures for me, too. Thought I would sign up and elaborate a bit on what I've found so far.

The VUE cluster just arrived via UPS yesterday, and it was in my hands barely 20 minutes before I had it apart for the bezel. I quickly discovered that the VUE cluster face is scaled down a bit from my '95 SW2 cluster, ended up cutting the bezel apart to fit. The bezel also covered up the incremental markings around the perimeter of the faces, giving the faces a completely different look. The S-series needles are also a bit too long to fit inside the bezels, so those will be trimmed accordingly.

I'll have some more pictures posted as I progress with this; turned out to be more of a project than I had anticipated, but the final product will be worth the effort.

Good Luck! Be sure to post up the finished product!

I'm taking on the same sort of project, except I'm going to use the Vue cluster, replace it's white face with the black face from my SL2's cluster, and then replace the lighting with blue LEDs so everything will perfectly match my Cobalt Series gauges. So mostly the same thing SupraCharged did, minus the L-series stuff, but adding the LED lighting.

make sure you get the LED's that are multidirection, I have issues seeing 45-65mph with plane LED's

Just file the domed tops flat. That should diffuse the light better. I used that trick all the time back in the day.

yea on the third gen swaps you can actually still see a little bit of the tick marks and the red area on that tach, but it covers up enough to give it a whole different look.
