yes, if there hit from an angle (I was backed into about a month ago), it will cause warpage and small indentation of the plastic cover. It is easily fix with a heat gun and pads, either a soft wheeled english wheel. it's just time consuming and a full repaint process - it din't help that it was 110-115 degrees in town that day, and I even pushed the bumper back out within 20 minutes of it happening.

bumper cover depends -> if your looking to replace your bumper, the visible part is the bumper cover, according to most body shops, and the stealership, like say after a mionr accident w/ no subframe or foam damage but the visible parts marred up and tweaked a lil bit.
