  • tint question

ok so my State Law says 70% of light must transmit thru the tint... so what percent to i get? 25%?

cuz the way i understand is
    100
    -70
    30% light blocked

    right?

tint is rated by the amount of light that it transmits, so you would need 70% or higher.

You have it backwards. If it is 25% tint, it lets 25% of light through.

But really if you are going to obey the law and get 70%, don't even bother getting your windows tinted. 50% tint is almost clear, not even sure if they make a 70%.

if u wanna play it safe don't get tint, cops will say that they can't see thru anything and if they say that they'll win in court no matter what. so just go illegal and put the windows down when ya see them

you can black out yo windows, just don't get caught

police have a device that meters the amount of light that passes through windows. if you brought an altercation to court and had it analyzed, and it was in your favor, there's no reason you would be in the wrong.

I don't care how cheap your town is, if you challenge it in court, there are certain guidelines that need to be followed. If you know your tint will pass, then you request adamantly to have it metered. Any judge worth a shit will stand behind it, unless you go in acting like a jackass, in which case you're done before you start.

i dont care what organize court systems they have in florida when everyone and their mom tints windows, the district courts around here don't care regardless what you say. my last hearing the judge slept thru and than woke up at the end and said i was guilty, unless you feel like getting a lawyer and appealin a hearing over window tint

not bein a dick or nuthin, just sayin 90% of cops and judges don't even know the real law for tint in this state, they all go by two things, either you can't tint your windows period or if its too dark to see thru its gotta go.

i'm not disagreein with you completely, i know that a set law is a law and you can win this stuff in court, but you can't just walk in and say i heard this was the law, not sure why your takin such offense to the fact that small towns don't care about tint laws

was just helpin the topic, hes from aruond here and if hes caught in a jurisdiction like the ones in my area this is the type of stuff he'll deal with

when something is a state statuate, EVERY town has to abide by it. that's why they are there. if you look it up, and find you are within the bounds of legality, a court CANNOT disregard that unless it's an extreme situation that would call for it. I dont' care if you live in podunk palace over in iowa, that's how things work.

I get irritated by people that just think that laws and the judicial system is up in the air and such, dont' confuse it with being offended.

it means that legally the tint must allow 71% or more of the original light to pass through
