Sunroof Problems

am i the only one wit a messed up sunrrof that just doesnt want to open...The motor is fine and the assembly itself is fine but it seems that its binding up whenever i try to open it...i took it down 3 times to see if i can fix it but i cant seem to be able to...any tips or advice would help....

umm the sunroofs on Saturns are notorious for having issues. I am sure if you use the search feature on this and (dare I say it) other forums you may find an answer you need, I know I had talked with somepeople with a similar problem before on (bad bad me) saturnfans

i can tell you what ever you want to know about them since i and many many others have had to deal with the shitty sunroof tracs. in short they need lube if it isn't already broken. most people don't do the proper maintance on the sunroof which leads to failure.

the motor seems to be binding up.. the glass doesnt even move an inch..it really bad...i dont wanna paid some sunroof guy to fix if i can save that money on something else...u know of any possible ieas on what to do or waht to lube up??

i dont want to make a new topic but i got a 01 sc2, and one of the arms is broken, is there anywhere i can get a new one other then a junkyard? and how would i go about getting it out? *bought the car like this*

i had a broken arm on my sunroof. you can actually dismantel the sunroof and swap it out with an arm from a junkyard gimmick pretty easy. i am pretty sure they don't sell the replacement parts at the dealer.

thanks, how do i get teh arms off? do i have to take the rivits out? because if so im just gonna get a whole new setup from the junkyard because i am going to assume this one is pretty well shot to shit.

you have to remove sunroof glass first.
then you will find this very tiny pin about in the middle of the arm. you remove that . and then you have to remove the boltand plate that is closest to the windshield that is connected to the track.

you then use the motor to bring it back into the closed position where you just have to work the arm out of the channel. steps to install is in reverse.

remember to pay close attention to where the everything is located and how it fits in under that plate you had to remove. this is what locks in the screw drive for the sunroof.

yo are doing most of this from the outside of the car and just take your time.
