• reupholster fabric on door panel

well since i had nothing better to do today, i decided id tear the panel off so i could repaint it and put the tweed on the panel. i had it cut out but never did get to work on it. oh and the reason for the repaint is because i did the panels last winter so it was cold and i didnt allow it to fully cure so it chipped, and i cant stand seeing these little tiny spots showing!!!!!!!!!!!!

why the hell did they have to melt the tabs down to the door panel? oh well got it off, makes life so much easier when painting and reupholstering

there it is after i sprayed it and laid it out. luckily damn gun even worked, kept getting chunks of glue and was shooting sideways when it would. cant fix it though, damn $15 gun get what you pay for.

and here is what it will look like once i pull the edge back and either melt it back to the door, or see if i can find some uber small wood screws or something.

you will never see the screws. the screws are to hold the panel back onto the door panel. they will thread into the back portion where it was molded to the door panel.

and molly, you better include those damn cookies too!!!

Pressures and stresses of all kinds thermal and mechanical loading across the board escalate to extreme levels. A Chevrolet 5.7-liter LS1 V8 with this much specific power (horsepower per cubic inch) would be making 2,137 hp

The insert on 2nd-3rd gens is held on by melted plastic rivets that have to have the heads cut off of them to release the insert. Then you have to get creative with reattaching the insert after you reskin it. I've heard of several people using screws, but I don't know the details of the kind or placement.

+1 on small ass screws. this is what i did for the 98 and 99. however i must have chosen a better material for the 98 as the 99 has faded and torn.
