NEW HOOD OPTIONS

I need a new hood... don't ask... i figure i should just get an aftermarket and call it at that... so rksport-scooped or sps-carbonfiber... what yall think.. also if you know anyone selling one cheap that will make my decision easier....

go with the OEM carbon Matt, I don't like that RK unit all that much.

I would go with the carbon fiber hood. The RK Sport isn't bad, but I personally like the carbon fiber on the redlines. I heard that there were some issues concerning the hood latch and the carbon fiber hood lining up right.

but on the other hand, carbon fiber is lighter, and personally to me wouldnt look all that bad with a metallic blue like yours. Plus, Doesnt CF disapate head better? Just wondering. I mean, one downside I can see is that if you ever rearended someone, or damaged your hood, it would cost a lot to replace.

Pictures of the one with the scoop would help people judge it as rice or not.

i guess the rk one one be good. isnt the opening more towards the back of the engine bay? it would work good for your project.

the opening on the RK hood is at the back end of the hood. I can't imagine there would be much of a benefit to having the scoop open. If it was somehow connected to the intake then I could see it being worth something for performance, unless your planning something that you haven't told us yet(turbo?)..

My vote is the carbon fiber as well. I see one for the Ion quad on ebay here and there from a guy in California. The price is always pretty reasonable, If I see it come up again, I will link it in the Ebay section again.

and the fibreglass is about the same weight as the cf... just a touch lighter... i'll see, im sure my mind will change back and forth a bit

the RK hood is nice... the scoop isn't over done like I thought it would be...

gives it a nice look IMO

well since everyone says carbon fiber that tells you most people out there are probably buyin cf for there ions, therefore you buy the rk sport one to be different.
