Not a modification but rather something neat I noticed.
On the 95 (and 96 for coupes) door panels the speaker covers are thermal welded on. The 93 door panel pictured here is retained with screws.
The side fabric inserts on the 95 (and 96 for coupes) is glued in place and is backed with a sort of thick fabric. The 93 however is metal backed and retained with tabs.
I presume that 94 door panela are also put together the same way as the 93 onea but have no way to personally confirm.
In conclusion for first gens if you are going to restore a door panel, do custom inserts, or work on or modify the speaker covers then the 94 down door panel would be preferred due to how they attached things.
